I have a MBP and I love it. In my opinion, I think the hardware is
better than any other laptop I have owned, and I like OS X more than I
like Windows.

That being said, do I like it so much that I can say, unequivocally,
that I will never own a Windows machine again? No.

My wife and kids each have Windows 7 on their laptops and I do not
find it to have half the issues of previous versions of Windows. And
each of their laptops boot from a shut down as fast or faster than my
laptop.

For those who are happy to be free of 'Office', you could could have
done so on Windows (OpenOffice) and saved yourself a shit ton of
money.

I aslo have Ubuntu running on an old desktop and I like that as well.
Not sure I could use it as my fulltime machine, but the UI is so much
nicer than what Linux used to be. You almsot can't tell you are using
Linux.
