Actually they were more of the people that the Berbers and other North Africans came from...I forget their name...they had a really cool special on a recent find from them where they found the beginnings of the mummification process, push that back 10's of thousands of years. "Black" Africans have a different ancestral line (not widely different...but still different) and a very different culture. The Paleontologist from the Field Museum (Dr. Paul Serranos) actually accidentally found it while hunting for dino's in the region. He ran across 2 massive graveyards from 2 successive cultures that lived there...one they think is the ancestors of the egyptians.
