Actually, this particular ordinance is prohibiting a corporation from doing something, not an individual. It is prohibiting them from providing a toy along with a happy meal. They can still sell the meal, you can still order it, no one is pointing any guns at anyone. McDonalds (and other restaurants, they aren't doing this solely to McDonalds) can also change the nutritional content of the meal and then include a toy. Specifically, the article stated that "The San Francisco law would allow toys to be given away with kids' meals that have less than 600 calories, contain fruits and vegetables, and include beverages without excessive fat or sugar."
So, to reiterate: 1. This is an ordinance that is targeting companies, not individuals 2. It does not prohibit anyone from selling the same thing they did before, it changes the way it is marketed 3. The companies are able to continue marketing the way they previously did but to do so, products would have to meet certain minimum requirements 4. No one is getting guns pointed at them. You're just wrong. Please try reading again, comprehending, wash rinse and repeat until you can understand that it doesn't involve government thugs with guns. Thanks.
