Nope, they are supposed to kick themselves out as he gets a little older,
around 3 or 4 years old I think. If they don't, the doc will surgically
remove them.

By then, his eustachian tubes should have opened enough that he doesn't have
the problem with the ear infections anymore, but that's not guaranteed. My
friend just had to take his 4 year old girl in to get her second set of
tubes :/
