I would disagree that the people are behind the Gov. WI is a heavily unionized state. I think only 2 unions...the firefighters and police...supported him in the election and have since dropped his support even though they are not subject to the same cuts that all other public service unions are (so he is definitely attacking unions that didn't support him). What we are seeing is not only union busting, but the governor and state republicans abusing their positions to punish political opponents.

There's a State revenue crunch thus the Gov is asking for Union give-backs. (but, in fairness, he's also asking for tax cuts and has pushed through corp tax cuts) (2.) The Unions are agreeing to all give-backs thus negating the finance argument, but not agreeing to give up collective bargaining, which the Gov says is not negotiable. Given this, the Governor's agenda is clear: kill the unions. And, so far, the public seems to be backing the Gov although whether that's due to the non-issue financial piece or the union piece is not clear. So I'm wondering if we're seeing the death of unions. thoughts? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:334599 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
