I don't think that is the plan.  I am guessing having an account will 
probably be required at some point in the near future.  MS is trying to 
combine all of their 'live' stuff and has been for a while.  They are 
making progress, but it has been a confusing mess.  Once they get it all 
straightened out, I can see them acquiring more outside services to put 
in their neat little package.

Some of the game publishers/developers have started trying to use 
dedicated gaming accounts, (Dragon Age II comes immediately to mind).  
Right now, they are persuading people to create them by giving them 
in-game goodies for their trouble.  It isn't a stretch to think that one 
will be required before too long.  For once, I am not opposed to 
something like this, as long as opting out of certain things remains an 
option.

Do I find having my Bioware account tied to my XBox convenient?  Yes, I 
do.  Would I find using something like Skype from my XBox convenient as 
well?  Probably and it would probably be the only way I would use a 
video type option.
