They are thinking that Americans accepted the police state after 9/11 and they want to push the boundaries before people figure out WTF is really going on. Remember those FEMA camps? Why haven't they been mothballed? Bin Laden is dead, the War on Terror is over. The Arab Spring conquered Al Qaeda, and their own leaders, without guns or bombs. We need to stand down the military and gear up the civilian innovation machine to figure out how the hell we get out of the mess we're in.
