It was some excellent football. Japan played with very good possession and the US played a very good physical attack. I don't see how anyone could have watched the match and thought that women's soccer is "boring". I hope it translates into more attention and viewership for the sport going forward. > As an aside, I am totally in love with that blonde midfielder, Rapino (sp?) > I think it is. That's Megan Rapinoe (pronounced Ra-peen-o). She's a hell of a player. She played her college years in town here at the University of Portland and I got to see her a couple of matches there. Same drive and relentless attack there, she finished her career as one of the top scorers in school history. The rap against her going into the World Cup is that she would attack *too* much and by overcommitting she'd lose some balls that she shouldn't and she'd foul when she shouldn't. Sundiage wanted her to keep it slightly more in control and temper her drive with a bit more awareness of everything else going on on the field. I'd say she did a good job. And now that both Argentina and Brazil are out in Copa America, it's shaping up to be a truly entertaining final in S. America. Good time for football.
