What did he do tho change the world?

Consider this. After I finished my master's degree I was awarded a
fellowship to develop a computer based version of a stuttering therapy
system. Because of an Apple grant, we were given 25 Mac Pluses (OK I'm
dating myself here), a couple of Mac II servers and SCSI based hard
drives for each machine. Because of the Mac's capacities as a
multimedia device the development of the computer based stuttering
therapy system ended up being very successful. We tried to duplicate
this using PC's but it turned out not to be cost effective.

My followup research showed that after therapy almost all the people
going through the program did not stutter at the end of the program.
The two year followup showed that over 75% maintained that fluency.

I cannot say about the entire world, but for the world of these people
the Mac certainly changed their world for the better.
