Bruce-

If you're only home for a few weeks you might want to preorder the
phone and have it shipped to someone to hold onto before you get home.
Many stores have short inventory and are running a 2-3 week (or more)
backlog on iPhone 4s orders.

If you wait till you get here and go to a store you might not have it
in hand before you have to leave again. That may change by February,
but it's worth thinking about - I'd at least check inventory levels
maybe a month before coming back for your leave. If you can't check
things out from there, ping the list and one of us will check for you.
