Maybe I should have focused my learning on other stuff.. I love watching shows like The Universe and reading up on science theory but I know jack when it comes to taxes.. I'm about to buy a house and I've heard for home owners it's best to itemize than take the standard deduction for taxes. Soooo what do I need to start saving? What kind of receipts? What can I deduct next year? I think I read that you can deduct sales or income taxes (income taxes is the tax you paid to the state?)? Are there any links you all can suggest to point me in the right direction or offer tips, I value all your opinions and definitely appreciate them as well. There's a HUGE wealth of knowledge here and it's so much easier to start here with my question than try to Google everything and hope I'm wording things right.
