I used to set mousetraps all the time. Have-a-heart traps. Then I kept the mice in an aquarium for a while. Couple weeks at most, then turned them out into the corn fields. I was 12. It was my wild animal experiment. I never tortured them, just watched them interact with each other.
I could never kill them though. Even though they are pests, they are so cute. Though if I owned a snake, I would have no qualms feeding mice to the snake.
