Just signed my 5.5 year old daughter up for her first big-kid summer
camp. We've got a group in town that does a lot of education around
animal tracking, survival skills, archery, that sort of thing and they
have developed some really fun camps for kids.

The one I just signed my kiddo up for is called: Elves, Wizards &
Rangers: Cascadia Role-playing Adventure

and features

• mobile camp from TrackersHQ, Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge,
Greenspaces in Portland
• come dressed as your favorite character (optional)
• restoration gardening, stewardship and building "Faerie Homes"
• ranger and rogue skills: stealth, evasion and wilderness survival
• archery with very simple, safe, light firing bows
• animal tracking & nature awareness
• language class where you learn Elvish and Klingon
• life of First Peoples in the Willamette Valley
• nature hikes and explorations evading bands of Orcs, Trolls and more
(instructors in costumes)
• Nature Folklore Immersion in fantastical and fun literature
• fun, medieval music
• improv, theater games and live action role playing

I think it will be an excellent outdoor nerd kid adventure.
