I co-manage a Yahoo! team for my boss, and to be honest, I hate the setup, UI, and layout. For that reason, and the fact that our team is 1-9, I never bothered to look at the site on Sunday. I did get the emails, and think it is cool that they are doing a peace offering for a free product. My inner geek brain was spinning thinking of what their server farm and setup must look like. "We process millions of transactions per hour..." - that isn't even counting them serving those stats back to us. I'd love to get a window into what that environment looks like.
ESPN is so much better though...and still free. :) On Wed, Nov 14, 2012 at 3:02 PM, Ras Tafari <rastaf...@gmail.com> wrote: > > i actually asked someone the other day if yahoo still existed. > > i dont think ive purposefully visited there in 10 years. > > > On Wed, Nov 14, 2012 at 2:03 PM, GMoney <gm0n3...@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > > Anyone else host their fantasy football at Yahoo.com, and been getting > > their emails about their outage last weekend? > > > > They explained the problem, apologized for it, said it wouldn't happen > > again, then offered a few discounts and whatnot to make up for it.
