It doesn't matter if it is relevant to you and me...what matters is whether
or not it is legally relevant.  It is not legally relevant.  If you go to
get a marriage certificate, the religious institution you are getting
marriaed at is not relevant.

They are not *supposed* to be relevant.

They are VERY relevant to many (most?) opponents. They are not supposed to
be relevant to the Supreme Court, but I am not sure this is perfectly true.
