Elon Musk has actually talked about this quite a bit. Tesla is doing everything it can to bring the price down and make this a real market, even sharing some of their technology with other companies to try to encourage a bigger market to develop. Musk's claim is that in any new product or industry, you start by producing a small number of very expensive things and then over time as you refine the process you learn to make more and more of them at a cheaper price. His plan is to bring a much cheaper car to market in the next few years. $40K isn't affordable for everyone, but it's a pretty good start on getting there compared to where they are right now. "That car, not yet named, would be priced below $40,000, and reach consumers in three to four years, Musk said in an interview today on Bloomberg West. It will have a range of about 200 miles (322 kilometers) per charge, he said in the television interview." http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-23/tesla-pays-back-u-s-early-as-musk-aims-for-affordability.html -Cameron ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:363833 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
