The standard view, as I understand it, is that time isn't a real thing. A useful concept, but not a real thing. However, there are some intriguing theories out there that say that time may, in fact, be a real thing and that that then has some fascinating consequences. I do not understand these things at this point. I was going to go to a lecture on the subject but the guy canceled. It is being rescheduled and I hope to go see it, perhaps I shall have more insight at that point.
