I remember we had a really bad ice storm at Ft. Polk one year...they closed everything down. I was staying at a friends house in a town to the south of post...we didn't know coming in was optional. We ended up spinning out a few times the roads were so bad. My friend...one of our scouts...was from the south and didn't understand the concept of how to drive on ice lol. Hell of a way to wake up though. I had crashed out in the back seat...it was a 45 minute drive to base from where we were at...I wake to us doing 360's at about 40 mph... Luckily we didn't hit anything...
