There is no justification for ignorance. Put it this way Religion is a
choice. Sexual orientation is not. You are free to condemn choices.
you are not free to condemn the way people are. You are free to keep
your religious biases to yourself, but are sanctionable if you act on
them.

so you have every right to think that being gay may be immoral. But
you have no right to deny that person his civil rights, including
secular marriage.
