I agree with you totally. Murder us murder. But why do you think there are degrees for murder? 1st, 2nd, 3rd. I would call this manslaughter-type abuse. But not abuse. It was in the heat of the moment thingy. It wasn't sinister, that she planned on hurting the child.
And there you admit you get pissed at your kids too. Some people just can't control it and they resort to beating something.
