I fortunately haven't had problems with ATI cards. I'm running a Radeon in a
WinXP box right now. You're right about Linux, fortunately I don't care.

I don't know though what you're saying about the nForce2 and ATI card asking
for trouble. The 9700 seems to run quite nicely with the asus A7N8x (which
isn't available yet.)

ATI 9700 runs up to 3x faster than a GeForce 4600. The slideshow for the new
NV30 card that nvidia is working on shows up to 2x faster than the 4600.
