The car he's talking about was also in popular science - http://www.popsci.com/popsci/auto/article/0,12543,385005,00.html
It's not a skateboard, the frame is just built like a skateboard. If you could get the car to handle like a skateboard, that would be better for your snow conditions. It would be using its weight to steer, not just two wheels in the front moving left and right (which if you've ever been on ice and tried jerking the wheel sharply, you know doesn't do crap.) > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, December 12, 2002 11:00 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: Re: Alternatives to Oil (Was Re: Letter to the > American People > (was RE: NAACP & KKK join force s)) > > > > > > > >The basic idea is that with a fuel cell and the elimination of heavy > >control systems in favor of an electronic fly-by-wire system you can > >reduce the car to a small skateboard-like platform. While 19 miles might not sound like "too bad", refer to the conditions mentioned above.
