I was taught the difference in spelling is supposed to differentiate between
magnetic and optical media.

Magnetic media: disk
Optical media: disc

So although a worm disc is square, it is spelled with a c. And who can tell
me what worm stands (stood?) for?

I was just labeling some CDs and realized something. I spell the name of
the media differently based on its shape.

Rectangular objects are disks -- floppy disks, hard disks, zip disks, jaz
disks. Round objects are discs -- compact discs, digital video/versatile
discs, laser discs, frisbee discs.

Anyone else have this (or a similar) quirk?
