I'd keep the dark gray on the back but use a ligther gray whereever theres text - call it a two tone monochrome scheme. In my experience, a lighter area where youre supposed to read focuses the eyeball on the content. DRE

I find it readable. I would suggest a different colour like khaki or olive green for example for the title text in the Header and maybe also for the titles in the navigation bar on the side.
