question though have you figured out how to change the planet
classifications it says you can customize the player defined 1-5 but i cant
:) and its driving me crazy!

I hated the game the first 3 or 4 times I tried it, then I figured out
a few things, and I played it for about 10 hours till I had to go to
work this morning :)
You have to obsolete any of the ships you don't want the ai to build,
and you need to always have at least one of each type of spy
unassigned. After I got those figured out, I was able to start getting
somewhere.

The biggest problem is later in the game there are some really nasty
bugs that cripple the enemy AI, so it rarely ever attacks. Of course
unless you turn off the Diplomatic Victory condition this is never an
issue, because one of the other computer players will always get
elected to lead the senate or whatever first...
