Seriously, though, I don't think I'd consider someone who grew up in a poor urban environment one of my peers. At the same time, I don't really think of rich suburbanites as my peers, either. I grew up the son of a college professor in rural TN/KY, and poor college students are my crowd. Intellectuals of all strains, wierdos, and geeks are my peers.
