Can I suggest you buy a Inter-Rail ticket. Costs vary but the last time I
did it cost me about �280 (gbp) and allows you free 2nd class travel around
europe for one month.

You should also consider

as you must be resident in a EU country for a minimum 6 months to get an
Inter rail passport.
