Aha, another Northern Californian <g>
(I'm in Pleasant Hill, Contra Costa County)

Blood Source? Is that a Transylvanian company? <g>

For quite a while, newcomers to the list have been welcomed with fresh,
warm <virtual> muffins.
Erika served as the muffin mistress. Blueberry was the usual flavor IIRC.

(There used to be an Erica and an Erika. Erika with a K from New Jersey met
Philip with one L at the CF conference in Orlando, married him, moved to
England.)

Muffins are also used to console folks having a bad day.

Stale muffins are thrown at people for minor transgressions, like most of
my puns.

(I'm the senior self-appointed court jester. I now have a young partner in
crime on the list - Ben Doom. We're opposites in all but humor and first
name. BenB is 53, BenD is 23. I'm in CA, he's in KY. I'm really big, he's
really skinny. Whatever <g>.)

Lacquered muffins for more serious offenses.

If you are *really* bad, they bop you with the cast iron muffin pan.

HTH.
