Well, I pretty much taught him everything he knew (about coldfusion anyway)
which may of explained why I didnt have time to write it myself. Not sure
why you would think I didnt know enough about him to write the letter
myself.

Theres more to it too. Sure you can write his letter but what if your spell
checker misses a typo or a grammar flaw or something? He doesnt get the job
bc your recomendation looks incompetent? I'm no grammar whiz but I sure
would feel bad about it.

Additionally, your candidate has probably researched who he is targeting the
letter at and would understand which of his skills the target wants to see
better than you.

Either which way Angel, you can be weird whichever way you like.

When I was in high school, the guidance counselor had me write my own
college reccommendations. Ever since, I've kinda felt that if you don't
know the person's skills well enough to do a brief letter about them, you
probably shouldn't agree to give them a reccommendation.

But I'm weird that way.

: Usually, I have them write it and I'll sign it. Once I had an intern who
: was fairly clueless write how he was a coldfusion god. It was
: pretty funny.
: I had to get him to tone it down just a wee bit.
