Which makes copyright 'laws' a farce, and they become a way to keep big
business IN business, not a way to protect intellectual property the way
they were initially envisioned.

They disnfranchise the consumer.

Keep in mind, the laws also affect everybody else, so sure Disney gets
to keep Mickey Mouse, but Warner Brothers gets to keep Bugs Bunny.
