multitude of themes w/o the series being an "action" series. I don't
know, maybe my memory is fading, but even though there was action in the
show, I never saw it as an action series. I also agree about how his
personality changed, but he NEVER (again, as far as I remember) came
close to being any remotely like an action star, in fact, he was quite
kooky. I don't want my Dr. "modern", I want him as wierd as he was back
in the good ole days.

Subject: RE: Dr Who is coming back!
One of the things that made Dr. Who cool was that the series adapted
itself to each 'generation', if one can use that term, and watching the
episodes over time is fascinating. The monsters, the accessory
characters, the threats of invasion, the dialogue, the wardrobe, etc.
all reflect evolving opinions and attitudes, while the Doctor continues
to be the same person in a new body and with different personality
traits. That's why the series as a whole holds up despite out changing
expectations towards entertainment.
Now, I never said let's turn the Dr. into an action hero - I said I hope
the show is shot more like a modern action series. The style, the mood,
the intangible traits and characteristics of the show are what I am
referring to here. I mean, those elements will be adapted the same way
they always have been, they might as well be adapted to a format we
already know and enjoy.
