I'm right there with you. My degree is completely unrelated to what I do
now. I count myself fortunate for finding an employer that supported the
idea of hiring something with initiative and letting me learn on the job.
That's the way my dad made it into IT when he was younger (he ended his
career as a VP of manufacturing for Cray Computers). But, you're probaby
right that as the web world gets more and more "established" future
generations won't be so lucky.
