I had that on a board I visit

There was a question raised about homosexuals raising somebody - would a
  gay couple be good parents...

Well, someone went off and posted that a child MUST have a Father and a
Mother, otherwise it can't have a happy upbringing

This REALLY got my back up - I grew up without a father (he walked out
before I was born) - raised by my mother (who was working full time) and
my grand-mother (who worked part time)

I never had a father figure, and never regretted not having one - esp
having seen some of my friends come to school bruised, because their
father had gotten drink and hit them when they did something dumb

Anyways, after my little "rant" on the subject, he completely went into
  hiding <g>

So, trying to give "opressive" views on a subject - as YOU see how life
should be is rather annoying to those of us who believe the complete
  opposite

  Back on topic...
In a way, I'm actually "scared" of having children, in case I turn out
like my father, and just walk away - in fact, I know I'd just walk away!

I've NEVER wanted children, I absolutely hate the concept of a child
needing for you 24 hours a day... This is why we have pets - they look
after themselves most of the time, and only need feeding once a day,
letting out several times a day, and then we give them love which they
  return... That's it!

I also can't see it when people say "Oh, isn't that baby beautiful" -
NO! It looks like a little Winston Churchill!

  There - I've had my say <g>
