Wow, Erika - I'm sorry to hear about it.  The price they're charging
actually sounds pretty fair.  No lecture here about backing up, either,
but in your next machine (or this one if it's supported), look into
running a RAID for your storage.  In fact, you could just install a
network-accessible RAID box if you were so inclined.  That sort of
redundancy makes the loss of a 120-gig drive an annoyance, as opposed to
a crippling problem.
