If is too strong. They are a large political body that time and time again
implement short-sited policies that at best disenfranchise their believers and
at worst kills them. Just look at the sex scandal in the US.
Note that my goal here is not to start a tirade for or against the Catholic
Church but to make note that ALL religions are political bodies and tend to
react very poorly to any form of challenges to their existing structure and
procedures.

Islam has been at fault for more unjust deaths than Christ based
religions?
I can't think of any. Hell even Islam probably has only caught up in the
last century or so.
The Roman Catholic Church is as evil as it comes IMHO.
