Oh..the gaming mouse.
I don't think that was the MX700 they were talking about. The MX700 is a
great mouse though. I love the ability to recharge it by putting it on
the USB Cradle that also doubles as the wireless transceiver.
Second thing is in my opinion it doesn't make sense going Bluetooth. You
can't use the bluetooth adapter to connect to anything else. The MS
Bluetooth setup will not connect to cell phones for instance, and I
doubt it the Logitech is any different. If you want bluetooth you are
better off buying a DLink Bluetooth DBT-120 USB adapter. The wireless
stuff is a lot cheaper than the Bluetooth (last I checked).
Now onto that Logitech gaming mouse, it's the MX510.
It looks pretty enough to f...

The sensor: The previous MX series used a 4.7 HYPERLINK
"http://gear.ign.com/articles/492/492151p1.html?fromint=1#" \nmegapixel
sensor. The MX510 is using a 5.8 megapixel sensor, which means that it
is gathering more information and providing greater accuracy and
precision. When moving the mouse rapidly across a desktop there is a
process of reporting movement. Nearly all optical mice report 7 bits to
the 7th power. This means that there tends to be gaps when moving great
distances rapidly. The new MX510 has a 12 bit report rate that is 12 to
12th power. With this much detailed information, every minute movement
of the mouse is registered as on screen movement. A general user would
see this as overkill, but a gamer that has experienced these issues in
the past will see the benefits. Many of our engineers who are hardcore
gamers have finally made the move from ball based mouse to optical due
to this mouse.
More on the 12-bit vs. 8-bit mice:
An improved 12-bit data path allows the MX510 to respond to movements 3x
as fast as current 8-bit mice can handle. This benefits high-paced FPS
games, allowing for quicker turns and effortless 180's.
Finally our new software allows for all eight of the buttons to be
programmed for game specific functions. This has be a long requested
item for our mice by anyone the plays PC games."
However, it doesn't seem to come bundled with any keyboards, so
you'd have to buy a wireless logitech seperately. The MX700 comes
bundled.

K, sold.
I'll find a good combo on newegg and order tonight. I'll check around
locally too. I looked at the Logitech offering @ bestbuy when I saw the
pro elite, and it din't look too bad. I also think the was top pick for
one of the pc game mags for mouses(the GOTY edition with jedi:kotor
white/red cover or whoever).
Thanks, Gel and Phillip.
