Congratulations.  It is not often that a company will create a slot for you
while a clearance is pending.  They are doing a you a great favor.  Once the
clearance is issued, talk about job security!  you will pretty well have it
made.

That was my experience when I was working for a DoD contractor (before I retired
in 2000)
