I'm with Doug on this one - the latest Outlook (2003) rocks. although I
still want non-html image attachments to appear automatically.  I use
iHateSpam and it integrates perfectly.  It offers a ton of labor saving
devices which extend the contextual task-based metaphor of XP to the email
client.  Rule creation is rich and simple.  Contact and scheduling is
incredible.

I'm forced to use Lotus Notes at the office and I'm shocked at how
aggressively unusable it is in pretty much every single area (just try
creating ANY filter in Notes).

As far as patches go I'd rather have a patched product that's obviously
getting updated to meet new threats than a supposedly secure products that
"doesn't need patches" - ask all those folks that run Black Ice if they
would have liked to have a patch say, two weeks ago.  ;^)  Patches are a way
of life as the malcontents and the vendors are constantly leap-frogging one
another.
