The Sony's are studio monitors. Really fantastic crisp sound, but I
personally didn't care for the fit. They're also a closed can design which
means it shuts out more ambient noise which is may be good, but could be bad
if your wife is trying to tell you that a dingo just ate the baby, or that
the roof the roof the roof is on fire.

I use a headset with boom mic because I play online games and like to talk
strat with people. (If you're looking for a group to play with, email me
offlist.) I had the cheap Plantronics for a long time and they pretty good,
then I got to try a Sennheiser headset. Mucho grande sound! And here's a

I prefer the surround of speakers, and have a 4 speaker setup, but like you
I have someone who gets annoyed when the sounds of gunfire, rolling tanks,
and screeching aliens are happening at midnight while she's trying to sleep.
Or even when she's in the same room working on the other computer.
