There are dozens of typing games out there that would help with basic key 
speed.  The better ones will start with the home keys [asdf|jkl;] and as you 
become proficient with those, they will add progressively more keys as your 
skills improve.  I learned to type fairly well [50-60words/min] with such a 
game on my first TSR80.

I think even a few days with a couple of hours of practice would provide some 
improvement.
