looking for a talented senior web application developer to take responsibility 
for a high traffic, award winning ColdFusion application used by non-profit 
community organizations, government outreach organizations, health care 
providers 
and the general public. This position will be responsible for a 
state-of-the-art, 
rules-based, benefits eligibility screening and application web site as well as 
a

This is a fulltime position. The job will be filled either onsite in 
Washington, 
DC or is open for telecommuting (if located in the Mid-Atlantic Region or New 
York Tri-State area). We can setup an immediate permanent placement or a 
contract-to-hire. At this time, we are not able to sponsor Visa candidates

• Act as the primary software guru for the application.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Design new features and functionality in support of strategic marketing 
initiatives and customer feedback.
• Lead brainstorming and troubleshooting sessions, architectural design 
discussions and initiatives.
• Redesign database tables, as necessary, to meet the ever evolving needs of 
the 
application.
• Take full responsibility for development and enhancement of core components.
• Estimate work effort and work with the project manager to set timelines. 
• Support user acceptance testing.
• Coordinate software and data deployments to the live site.

Required Skills:

• 5 - 10 years experience developing data driven web applications.
• Minimum of 2-4 years experience developing complex ColdFusion applications, 
including:
o Experience with CF7.
o Working knowledge of ColdFusion Component(s) (CFC(s)), custom tags, 
ColdFusion 
server administration, performance tuning and ColdFusion variable scoping best 
practices.
o Strong knowledge of database querying within ColdFusion.
• Experience designing software and complex databases.
• Knowledge of ColdFusion Frameworks or Related Web Frameworks such as:  
o Fusebox, model glue, etc.
• Comfortable with Linux OS and Apache server.
• Strong knowledge of one or more Database Management Systems (ideally MS SQL 
Server and Mysql), including:
o Indexing
o Stored Procedures
o Join Syntax
o Query Performance Tuning
o Database Architecture
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Works well in a small team setting.
 


Additional Skills are a Plus: 
1.  Web Services/SOA
2.  AJAX, CSS and/or JavaScript
3.  Perl/PHP
4.  Java
5.  Linux shell scripting
