To all potential employers...

This is just a friendly request that you please make it crystal clear as to
whether you will or will not consider hiring remote programmers /
telecommuters. I realize it might seem obvious that a company only
wants on-site personnel when the advert notes in what state company HQ
resides or by what subway station the office is located. However, it has
been my personal experience that facts such as these do not necessarily
indicate anything specific.

There are many talented programmers keeping an eye on this list who need
jobs but cannot, for whatever reason, relocate at this time. It would
economize your time and ours if we categorically knew whether or not to
submit a resume to your now undoubtedly huge pile. A quick "telecommuters
welcome" or "telecommuters need not apply" at the top of the listing would
be most appreciated (by me, anyway. I don't presume to speak for everyone!)

"Not a sermon. Just a thought!"

:)
