The position is temporary with the option to convert to permanent employment after 6 months. SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing technical leadership on one or more projects/teams. This requires high level of technical expertise, extensive interaction and effective communication with the IT and the clientâ?Ts program management staff. This incumbent will work on complex projects with minimum supervision. He/She will be responsible for leading the technical staff through out the entire life cycle of the project(s). He/She stands in as back up for manager as needed. Assists manager in both high-level and detailed planning, scheduling, as well as in team building and professional development activities. He/She provides technical mentorship to the technical staff and helps with set up and implementation of best practices. This incumbent is widely recognized both within I.T. and across the clientâ?Ts enterprise as having a high level of expertise in many technical and business content areas. A well-respected â?ogo toâ? resource for technical staff and the clientâ?Ts program staff. RESPONSIBLITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · In collaboration with manager and senior software engineer, performs and leads analysis, design, development and unit testing of complex software applications; and leads resolution of defects. · Works with other software engineers to develop project estimates, tasks and schedules. · Provides project status updates to manager and program staff. · Directs development of system documentation according to established standards. · Participates in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews. · Assists in reviews of and revisions to the clientâ?Ts S&Pâ?Ts. · Collaborates with program staff, vendors, consultants and manager to define and enforce service levels. · Plans, schedules and conducts system tests; monitors test results; and directs follow-up. · Interfaces regularly with other I.T. teams and sections, program staff and business/requirements analysts to determine new system requirements and to solve complex operational problems. · Provides technical mentoring to developers.
