The ldb file is a lock file for the data source. Overwriting the data source
gets it out of sync and the data source would not know what transactions
have the data base locked.
If it is possible to delete the ldb file, you should be able to make changes
to the data source and then the next time
it gets used it should create a new one.
If you can not delete it, check with you ISP and find out if they have the
maintain data source connection checked in CF administrator, Unchecking this
property will let you delete the file as long as now one is in the middle of
a transaction.

Subject: [KCFusion] MS Access
Hello All,
I'm sure someone before has experienced this before
and has a solution.
I have an MS Access database that we FTP to our ISP.
When we access a page that does a query against the
database there is a .ldb file created with the same
name of the database. After the session is ended and
the browser is closed the .ldb file still exists. At
this point I can't copy a newer database up. The only
thing I can do is use remote administrator to verify
the datasource and that gets rid of it and then I can
copy the file up. It seems like if I wait a while the
.ldb file goes away.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
