I'm really happy to share that we have a start to the CF Geometries contributed
to GDAL/OGR <https://github.com/OSGeo/gdal/pull/1541> ! Thanks to Winor Chen, a
student from the UW-Madison, for his great work on this! So far only a reader
and CRS support is limited, but the writer and further refinement is in the
works and should be implemented this summer.
