#104: Clarify the interpretation of scalar coordinate variables -----------------------------+---------------------------------------------- Reporter: jonathan | Owner: [email protected] Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: medium | Milestone: Component: cf-conventions | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: -----------------------------+---------------------------------------------- Comment (by russ): Having just reviewed this ticket and ticket #105 as well as all the associated comments, I'm convinced by the arguments in favor of #104. I believe the new clarifications capture the original intent of scalar coordinate variables as a convenient and natural shortcut and convenience, avoiding the proliferation of size 1 dimensions. Dependencies among scalar values are best captured by use of explicit dimensions expressing such relationships. In their absence, scalar coordinate variables may be assumed to be independent. --Russ -- Ticket URL: <https://cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov/trac/ticket/104#comment:29> CF Metadata <http://cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov/> CF Metadata This message came from the CF Trac system.
