There is a new installation process that is more automatic since the change over to Mura and release 5.1 I think. ( they changed the name from Sava and so things inside the program changed regarding namespace and such) As such - I am not familiar with the new process as I have been running it for a while.
So I downloaded it and looked through the set up files. It looks prety straight forward now, as long as you have properly set up the db and datasource. In the CF admin - did the datasource show green? I use mysql5 as well and it runs fine on it. I looked into my cfadmin as well to check my DB. I used "other" to set up the mysql5 DB and for JBDC url i have a link to the driver and under driver class I have com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. beyond that I am not sure. You can see on the forums that archived install post versus the new and there do not seem to be many issues thus far with the new install. But bugs do pop up which they are quick to address.
