go ahead. Start a "Unix... No linux... No NT" war!

As it's an intranet, go with what you (or your sys admins) know.

As far as my preference, I would always use Apache on unix/linux as a
webserver, BUT, if you are not comfortable with unix then don't and go with
IIS and NT.

CF works with both, so I wouldn't worry about CF.  It's just a platform
thing.
