Steve,
Per your advice, I obtained an Apache Server and installed it on my desktop
as a development server. I get the Apache index.html at http://127.0.0.1
which states that "the installation of the Apache web server software on
this system was successful" and that I can modify the file to make it my
index file. All fine and good.
I even went to the Allaire site and got the scoop on configuring the Apache
Server. I set everything up to talk to 127.0.0.1 (NameVirtualHost,
VirturalHost, you name it) in the httpd.conf file and included the
LoadModule directive to load coldfusion_modules in this same file (all on
the same line). I was so hopeful that this would all work. But guess what?
I still don't get a Cold Fusion Administrator to appear when I click on it
from the Programs menu. I get a garbled set of control characters just like
I did with the Netscape Enterprise Server. What am I doing wrong?
