As far as I can tell, if you want to upgrade a CFMX 6.1 on J2EE installation to a CFMX 7 Multiserver installation and get all the features of that version, you have to completely uninstall CFMX 6.1 and JRun, then install CFMX 7 and JRun. Before doing so, you can export pertinent CFMX settings like datasources and mappings to a CAR file, however. You could simply deploy a CFMX 7 EAR to a new JRun server instance, but in that case you won't get the server management functionality that's been added to the CF Administrator, and by the time you configure COM and Verity, it would probably have been easier to just uninstall the whole JRun install.
